FAQ

How long does the Paint Protection Film process take?

Protecting your vehicle with a complete PPF treatment requires approximately 5-6 working days. The process begins by preparing the car for a clean room working environment with a very thorough and extensive prep process, followed by comprehensive paint correction, application of PPF, curing, and final inspection.

How do I wash my car after having paint protection Film installed?

Cleaning your car after PPF has been applied should always be done by hand using your favourite automotive soaps and clean microfibre materials. PPF and its self-healing layer can be damaged by automated car washes. You should also avoid high pressure washing over edges, this includes avoiding touchless or waterless systems. These are unpredictable systems that we cannot recommend using to preserve the 12 year warranty, and guarantee we provide.

Is there any maintenance service required for my Paint Protection Film?

After you have enjoyed your vehicle for 2-4 weeks after application, we recommend returning to Protective Auto Solutions for an inspection. We provide a complimentary wash and inspection for a little extra encouragement for the owner to return. Each surface will be thoroughly inspected to ensure proper curing. We take a lot of pride in our work, and want to be sure every vehicle on the road with our name on it has a happy client inside of it. We would like to see the vehicle every 6-12 months from there on out, however if you ever become concerned with the PPF on your vehicle after or between this time, please contact us so that we can help.

Can you apply Ceramic Coating to Paint Protection Film?

Applying ceramic coatings over PPF is a common practice for maximum protection. In addition to serving as a second barrier to the elements, the hydrophobic properties of the coating help keep your car cleaner for longer periods of time but, also aid as method to help make your cleaning process easier. Ceramic coatings can also be applied to your vehicle's interior, wheels, and glass.

Why does my car need Paint Correction when it is brand new from the dealership?

Even the most exclusive new vehicles are delivered with minor flaws, swirls, or scratches. Paint correction is a meticulous process that involves examining every painted or clear coated surface before correcting to create a consistent and flawless surface on every area of the car. We want to guarantee you with the best install we can provide, that can't be done without Paint Correction. Paint correction is a requirement for Paint Protection Film application, ensuring maximum adhesion and durability.

Why are there no prices listed?

At Protective Auto Solutions we tailor to each client's needs and believe that no two cars are the same. To discuss finer details including pricing please go to our contact page to fill out a form or give us a call. We will then schedule your consultation meeting.

My Paint Protection Film is damaged! What should I do?!

Sometimes damage happens. Light scratches will heal on their own in about 20-30 minutes at room temperature, even quicker if left in direct sunlight. If you have more severe damage of any sort, do not touch it. This can be the difference between saving a piece, vs. paying for a replacement if not covered under warranty. Give us a call, or stop by any time. All our clients have open, direct lines of communication with someone at our shop available any day, at any time.

We bring that into our first consultation meeting:

The Work Itself:

- Disassembly. In most cases, this means removing badges, door handles, trim pieces and anything else we deem reasonable to hide as many edges as possible, eliminate seams, and achieve the long lasting results we guarantee, and warranty.

- Inspection is one of the most important parts of the job. After a panel is laid, we inspect it. After the whole vehicle is complete, we inspect it and before your vehicle leaves, you guessed it! Inspection! Things happen, this is what we do to eliminate careless mistakes.
